This collection of papers was delivered at the 2018 Symposium in Rome to mark the 900th anniversary of the birth of St Thomas of Canterbury, the 450th anniversary of the founding of the English College at Douai, and the bicentenary of the re-opening of the VEC. The papers were published two years later on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the martyrdom of St Thomas Becket
